The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
